TO CONSERVE, PROTECT AND RESTORE THE COLD WATER FISHERIES AND THEIR WATERSHEDS IN THE NORTH GEORGIA AREA, WHILE ASSISTING THE TU NATIONAL ORGANIZATION TO DO THE SAME AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL.

1 – DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT A COMPREHENSIVE EDUCATION PROGRAM DESIGNED TO IMPROVE THE GENERAL PUBLIC’S KNOWLEDGE, UNDERSTANDING AND APPRECIATION OF THE TU MISSION. OWNER – OFFICERS AND CHAIRMAN – PAT PATTILLO.
KEY OBJECTIVES INCLUDE:
* LOCAL SCHOOLS, COLLEGE I.E. LUMPKIN COUNTY – AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM, COLLEGE COURSE TAUGHT BY TU AT NGCSU.
* FLY FISHING SEMINARS – FLY FISHING TUNEUP FOR 2011 TROUT SEASON
* ORGANIZATION ALLIANCES – ACHASTA, BIG CANOE, TRAIL FEST
* DO PROGRAMS FOR CIVIC CLUBS AS AN OUTREACH – ROTARY, LIONS, KIWANIS, CIVITANS ETC. in progress – SMITHGALL WOODS, RIVERS ALIVE, HEALTH AND WELLNESS FAIRS IN LOCAL COUNTIES.

2- DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT A CONSERVATION PROGRM DESIGNED TO SUPPORT TU’S NATIONAL CONSERVATION AGENDA WITH PROJECTS, AS WELL AS TARGET AND PERSUE PROJECTS WITH OUR OWN GEOGRAPHIC REGION. OWNER – SHERMAN HEAD – CHAIRMAN.
KEY OBJECTIVES INCLUDE:
* WORKING WITH TU COUNCIL, DNR, OTHER CHAPTERS – DEVELOP STREAM WORKDAYS – FIVE HAVE BEEN SCHEDULED FOR 2011.
* OTHER STREAM WORK AS IDENTIFIED – I.E. STREAM CLEANING – FROG HOLLOW, RIVERS ALIVE ( ETOWAH AND CHESTATEE STREAMS ),  HELP WITH HEMLOCK TREATMENT AT  CAMP GLISSON ON CANE CREEK.
* TARGET ANOTHER HIGH PROFILE PROJECT TO RALLY THE CHAPTER BEHIND I.E. TIC, GRANT PROJECT
* PARTNER WITH OTHER GROUPS / ORGANIZATIONS TO ADVANCE COMMON CONSERVATION ACTIVITIES.

3- DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT A PLAN TO DECENTRALIZE RESPONSIBILITIES, IMPROVE MEMBER PARTICIPATION, STREAMLINE KEY TASKS, AND IMPROVE CHAPTER RESPONSIBILITIES. OWNER – SHERMAN HEAD – PRESIDENT.
